The pleasure of a different turn.

The West Village’s angled streets, modest-scale buildings, and historic townhouses interrupt Manhattan’s familiar grid. Grove, Bleecker, and Hudson Streets each reveal a different mix of neighborhood shops, restaurants, and residential blocks.

Townhouses, cooperative apartments, and converted buildings sit within a streetscape that often feels intimate. Farther west, Hudson River Park opens the neighborhood toward the water. The contrast between these closely drawn streets and the broad riverfront is one of the West Village’s most distinctive qualities.
