Neponsit

A small coastal neighborhood with individual homes.

Neponsit occupies a compact section of the western Rockaway Peninsula near Jacob Riis Park. Detached houses, planted yards, and varied architectural styles define much of its residential streetscape.

The Atlantic beach and Jamaica Bay form the wider setting on either side of the peninsula. The neighborhood’s relatively small scale puts attention on individual properties, their lots, and how they connect with the surrounding streets and shore.
