Little Italy centers on the restaurants, shops, and streets around Mulberry Street. Its Italian American heritage remains visible in the neighborhood’s food traditions, storefronts, and the long-running Feast of San Gennaro.

Above the active commercial streets, older apartment buildings retain the scale of historic Lower Manhattan. Chinatown, Nolita, and SoHo are close neighbors, each bringing a different atmosphere. This is a small district whose identity is closely tied to the history and everyday life of its streets.
