Roosevelt Island

An island within the city.

Roosevelt Island sits in the East River between Manhattan and Queens and is part of the borough of Manhattan. Its waterfront paths, residential buildings, and views across the river create a setting quite different from the avenues on either shore.

The tram is one of its most recognizable connections to Manhattan. At the southern end, Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms State Park provides a formal landscape facing the city and the water. Apartment living here is closely connected to that island scale and the surrounding river.
